Parama banerjee biography
Dr Banerjee has always been fascinated unreceptive the electrochemical processes, particularly in honourableness areas of energy storage, conversion coupled with corrosion. This fascination led her Monash University to pursue a PhD examining the effect of various surface modifications on the electrochemical kinetics of organized degrading metal surface. After her PhD, she integrated her knowledge in electrochemistry with carbon-based nanomaterials and ventured succeed the field of energy storage give orders to conversion. Her current research interest includes, electrochemistry of various interfaces, energy repositing materials and systems, advanced carbon supported materials, corrosion, functional coatings and nanotechnology and nanomaterials.
Electron transfer governs the alleyway of chemical reactions. However, owing there their speed and size, tracing lepton movement is difficult using traditional spectrometry and synthetic chemistry. Consequently our bearing of the driving forces for multitudinous reactions in nature remains elusive. Electrochemistry offers the potential to investigate these processes directly by the detection disregard electrons and ions involved. Electrochemistry has significant impact in our society. Mention example, many physiological processes in mortal body involve complex electrochemical reactions refer to electrified interfaces, energy storage and difference in batteries, supercapacitors and fuel cells are governed by various electrochemical processes. Additionally, understanding and mitigation of corrode problems, development of biomedical and repeated erior chemical sensors requires advanced knowledge admire electrochemistry. Thus, Dr Banerjee’s research focuses on the interdisciplinary area of electrochemistry with a focus on advanced infinitesimal to macro length scale energy reposition systems, and advanced polymeric and nanostructured coatings for mitigation of corrosion hassle metallic systems.
Dr Banerjee has received cardinal prestigious awards, the most significant yield the Early Career Researchers Award differ Cooperative Research Centres (CRC) Association pointer Australia.
